Bishop Michael Duca Tells Tom Pace About Pope Benedict Resigning & Personal Meet w/The PontiffPosted by: Tom Pace - February 12, 2013Tuesday, February 12th, 2013, the head of the Shreveport Catholic Diocese, Bishop Michael Duca sat down for an EXCLUSIVE 23 minute "1-on-1" interview with "Talk of the Town" host Tom Pace about the unexpected announcement by Pope Benedict XVI Monday that he is stepping down as the leader of the Catholic Church worldwide. Bishop Duca revealed to Tom, he too, as well as most other Bishops, Archbishops & Cardinals, were shocked to learn that the Pope had decided to retire. Duca explained to Tom the process by which a new Pope will be chosen, by Easter March 15th according to the Holy See. Duca also commented on his personal meeting with Pope Benedict last year at the Vatican, explaining that while the Pope seemed frail at the time, he seemed to have renewed vigor when he personally spoke to the Bishop and others. According to Duca, the Catholic Church currently is seeking to right itself from the troubles of past indescretions by members of its own clergy...to become more transparent & accountable.
