Childhood menories
When i was growing up my dad would drink and he would say poems to us. We thought they were funny but I remembered them. Here goes.
Carnation Milk Carnation Milk the best in the land Comes to the store in a little red can No tits to pull, no hay to pitch Just punch a hole in the son-of-a-b*tch.

Me Mudder Whem me prayers so early said Who tucked me in me little bed Who spanked me *ss til it was red Me Mudder Who took me from my cozy cot And sat me on an ice cold pot And made me pee when I could not Me Mudder Who did me hair so neatly part She pressed me gently to her heart And sometimes squeezed me til I fart Me Mudder

I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old, both boys. I am reading them the real "Brer Rabbit" stories every night. These are awesome. We are reading the old vernacular, which at times can be very difficult to "translate" which I have to do often for the boys to understand the story. I guess my point is I hope when they are older they can say "I remember reading these old animal stories, what ever happend to them".

Well that is the name my mother called us growing up when we were in a bad humor....Crabby Appleton...I have passed it on to my girls...now isn't that compassionate???
You sound like a good daddy purpahurl! Keep up the reading! It makes a huge difference in their education to start reading even to them as infants!
