Police Search for Armed Robber Near Barksdale

Earlier tonight, an African-Amercan male approach our house on Bistineau Drive. He asked my brother-in-law, who was outside watching the grill, if he could pay $50 for a ride across town. My brother-in-law refused. The man then asked if he could pay $50 to come inside for a few minutes. Not surprisingly, he refused again. Fortunately, the suspicious man walked away.

Less than an hour later, over 9 police units from Bossier and Shreveport police departments, including a K-9 unit, were all over our street and all streets within sight. They confirmed that they were searching for the man who had approached our house only minutes prior. According to police, this man is a suspect in armed robbery.

We don't have any further details, but we assume the robbery took place tonight. We are fortunate nothing more happened on our street.

Oh that is so scary!! I'm glad he didn't use force against y'all! I just saw this story on the news. He robbed I thought they said the Family Dollar Store then left in an SUV...2 women bailed and were arrested but he's still at large.

If my wife and kids weren't home I would have let the guy in and called the cops.

That sounds dangerous. What if the guy had shot you in the head the minute he was inside?
