Tom Petty to play Super Bowl!

I love how in the last several Super Bowl games they've had classic rockers play at half time. I know they usually have to throw in someone that is also in the top 40 for a mixture but it's been fun watching Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, Prince perform in recent years!Tom Petty I'm sure will not leave us disappointed!

LOL yeah, I saw a commercial for that. TP & the HBs do the Superbowl LOL
I'm as big a Tom Petty fan as you'll likely find.. and I'm glad TP will get the air time and the audience. But at the same time, those halftime shows always seem so .. I don't know what the word is.. they get these folks (crowd) up there to the stage and they are all going nuts like they got paid to do it LOL

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been going at it for over 30 years. I try to catch every show they've done within 350 miles or so. Saw them a year or so ago at the Starplex in Dallas.. and they can still ROCK THE HOUSE !!

I know what you mean about the half time show tending to get a bit cheesy. Too bad they won't just let the guys play and do their thing! I guess they think it makes for better tv to have the over-the-top dancers and "fans" holding silly signs and such.
