Stacey Finley, 34, persuaded her targets -- described by federal prosecutors as "solid, middle-class, educated citizens" -- that she was a CIA agent and could use her agency contacts to have medical scans conducted by satellite. Finley said the scans would reveal hidden medical problems, prosecutors said, and that CIA agents would then enter their homes and administer secret medications while they slept. Those treatments would supposedly prevent serious health problems and hereditary diseases.

The FBI began investigating after one of the victims became suspicious and told a local law enforcement officer.

I am amazed when I hear of stories like this one that people,

"solid, middle-class, educated citizens"

could actually fall for this for this amount of money.

"Educated" and "smart" don't mean the same thing.

There is "educated", there is "smart", and then there is "gulible". Some people are just "good people" and therefore easy to deceive because they don't think like crooks do.

Also "smart" is a relative thing if she goes to heaven and the crooks go to hell. Who's the smart one? (Of course you must believe in an after-life to believe that)

There are also people who underestimate the number of scum we have out there. They are enthusiastic toward humanity, which makes them gullible and unable to identify the inhumane among us.
